If you open Dendrology’s homepage today, the entry the site puts forward from the archives is Irrigation Rigging. That’s not an accident of rotation — it’s the entry that shows, in one sitting, what this whole site is about.
Irrigation is where two kinds of data meet a real decision. The entry walks through both sides: precipitation forecasts, temperature, humidity, and wind driving evapotranspiration on the weather side; soil type, real-time moisture readings, and drainage modeling on the ground side. Its own framing puts it best — the goal is “ensuring crops receive the right amount of water at the right time.”
It’s also the front door to the Precision Agriculture Specialist learning path, where it sits as step 2 of 10, right after the Environmental Systems survey. Everything after it deepens one of its two halves: the harvest-timing entry extends the weather side, and the field-data entries — starting with the just-published Soil Data Sources — extend the ground side.
Start there. If the way it turns forecasts and soil readings into a watering decision clicks for you, the rest of the path is that same move, practiced until it’s yours.
